We have partnered with SUNY Buffalo to offer up to 3 Graduate Credits per course. In addition to registration fees, each credit will cost $130 and is arranged with SUNY Buffalo, once the course has started.
Online MARIO Courses
These powerful 10-week courses are designed to empower learning support teachers to build, pilot, and improve their MARIO classes and deepen their understanding of the framework. We are developing professional networks of forward-thinking learning special educators that support each other inside and outside the classroom. Options are available for receiving Graduate Credits.
MARIO 101: Understanding and Setting Up
the MARIO Framework
September 21 – November 29
This personalized course will help participants create a wide range of customized tools and strategies that will assist them in confidently launching or upgrading their personalized learning support class. Participants will gain a greater understanding of the framework, learn how to weave highly effective research-based teaching strategies into their classroom, build individual components of their class that will flexibly fit within a broader structure, and develop thoughtful plans for successful implementation.
Participants will connect with other learning support teachers piloting, or planning to pilot, the MARIO Framework at their schools and engage in valuable weekly discussions. Philip Bowman will be facilitating this course and providing targeted feedback and ongoing support. In addition to weekly learning projects, participants will have personalized learning opportunities every week and build a cumulative learning portfolio.
Understanding and Setting Up the MARIO Framework is the first of two courses that lead to certification as an official MARIO Educator. Additionally, participants can enroll with SUNY Buffalo to earn graduate credits.
